A little in-between video from the young master Tor Ström himself. Coming in hot after his recent footy drop with office favorite Ville Wester, who is also featured here, it is a good way to start the weekend.

It’s a good day for all the Lizzie Armanto fans out there. Vans Skateboarding blessed us with an almost 6-minute Lizzie part filmed by Chris Gregson and TJ Gaskill. They are really taking the bowl-follow lines to the next level. Those clips look amazing!

Check out Lizzie’s Vans pro shoe HERE. We only heard good things about it.

After a longer break, Romain Batard is finally back with a new installment of one of our favorite ongoing skate series a.k.a. Giddy. Number 12 is completely filmed in the cities of Monterrey and Mexico. We get why a lot of people go there lately – the spots look amazing.

It’s been a while since we have watched a Toy Machine video but they were usually all instant classics. Their 8th video is showcasing a couple of new additions, a lot of surprises and the typical Toy Machine C.I.!

Featuring Axel Cruysberghs, Dashawn Jordan, Daniel Lutheran, Leo Romero, Blake Carpenter, Jeremy Leabres, CJ Collins, Myles Willard, Braden Hoban, Matt Bennett,

Gotta love the Vans Europe team for their ability to go for it in any and every situation or spot. We don’t want to spoil the trick but we were really stoked to see Dustin Dollin with a great ender trick in this!

On a side note Pfanner is like a very fine wine isn’t he.

The best possible outcome from a Moscow trip is definitely this video to which one can simply say wow…

Vans put this out from Russia with love and we managed to get our Chris Pfanner fix until the next video.

The formula for the typical skate event in Berlin usually consist of a video premiere or a contest and a few free drinks. Vans took it to another level this past weekend with a House of Vans at E-Werk in the very center of Berlin. Vans opened the doors to a three day Pop-Up House of Vans. Similarly to the permanent House of Vans London or the House of Vans Chicago, it was all about skateboarding, art, music and that very special Berlin culture.

The day started off with an open session for the Berlin locals. Vans Invited 3 Crews, including Radio Skateboards, Alltimers, and Yardsale to codesign the skate course. Rumors surfaced that the Alltimers obstacle was designed in Microsoft-Paint. After a few beers and burritos, the first night of concerts and partying with acts like Leoniden and Schmutzki was on.

Day two began with Vans hooking up over 30 girls and boys, with complete boards and a full morning of practice and session, in preparation for a girls only cash for tricks in the park. The ones that wanted to try out for the first time got help by Vans female skate ambassadors.

The second day continued right next to the skate course, with various pop-up stores on the so-called “Street Market”, up-cycling, self-improvement and on how to use Instagram to your advantage workshops. During the whole event and especially after the indoor park got closed people just went outside to sit in the sun and enjoy a drink.

That night, pretty much everyone was down to get back inside and party to music by Octavian, Drunken Masters, DJ Craft, J Rick and more until…

The morning of day three, people just started arriving at the House of Vans and the ones that we’re already there seemed pretty hungover. A few of them even decided to get tattooed by local artist Max Ludwig.

At 8 pm the final chapter and my personal highlight, the Cash for Tricks event went down.

Everyone ripped and tried to get a slice of the 3000 € prize money. The whole Vans Europe team ripped and especially Axel Cruysberghs took the park apart.

Thank you to Vans Skateboarding for hosting us and everyone else at House of Vans. On to the next one Cheers!

On Saturday, September 15th, 2018, Pop Trading Company joined forces with Vans to host the first edition of Vondel ‘18. An invitational skateboard contest in the middle of Amsterdam’s Vondelpark. The concept of this event is referring back to simpler times, where phones were not our first priority. You could find basic obstacles reminiscing of San Francisco’s Back to the City contest or closer to home the 3rd Floor Skatepark in Pakhuis Amerika back in the mid to late 90’s.

Next to an impressive line up of some of the best skateboarders in the world and a very interesting location,
unique to this event was the lack of media. All skateboarders were documented by one crew using Hi-8 camera’s
as it would happen in the early days, pre-internet, where you would have to wait for the latest 411 Video Magazine or Transworld Skateboarding to see who had won a skateboard competition.

With checkpoints at both entrances the crowd had to go back in time with us as phone cameras were stickered, Berghain style, where the court was treated like a movie set, nobody films or shoots photos apart from the invited media.
The contest footage is released on VHS tape, which you can find now at a few select local dealers.

Documentary film making meets the outstanding skating of the huge New Balance Numeric team. A special kind of tour clip through the beautiful country of Spain. Featuring: Antoine Asselin, Jack Curtin, Arto Saari, Axel Cruysberghs, Jordan Taylor, Jake Hayes, Tyler Surrey, Tom Knox, Franky Villani, Flo Mirtain, PJ Ladd, Marquise Henry, Tom Karagelov, Jordan Trahan, Levi Brown and Mark Baines.

Bilbao.

Axel:
The hubba is at a skytrain station (part of the public transport system). It’s always super packed with people, so it’s pretty hard to skate. The whole crew was helping to stop the people that were passing by, while I was trying to get the trick – thanks a lot guys! I love filming with Lucas! He’s one of my favorites. He had a lot of shit on his mind in Bangkok but still managed to film everything the way I like it!

Burny:

axel_ollieup_og
Ollie Up

Lucas:

Axel:
I don’t have all those tech tricks so I just tried to ollie up the gap.

Burny:

Axel:
We went to that spot the first day we arrived in Bangkok. I was trying to tre flip it but I couldn’t do it. On one of the last days we went back. I did the tre flip in a couple tries and then tried to do the Impossible. It was 35 degrees that day. So gnarly to skate!

Burny:

axel_halfcab_180
Half Cab into Bank

Lucas:

Axel:
There were two security guys at that spot. One guy said we could skate there. So I was trying the Half Cab, and after a couple of trys he said I could try two more. I could not land it, so I went up the bank to try one more, all of a sudden the other security guard came, and he was trying to beat me up with a stick. Somehow we could manage to get one more shot and I luckily made it.

Burny:
Der Junge macht einfach, was er will!

axel_5-0_drop
5.0 Gap out

Lucas:
No, no, skating good, don’t worry, all good! They professional! Ja! Ja! You know Nikeee? Is big company, you like Nikeee? Adidaaaas! Big Company! Big, professional!! Is no problem. Half an hour skate no problem!!!“, waren ungefähr seine Worte.

Axel:
That spot was mellow. We tried to skate it and the security showed up, so Burny was talking with him to get five more minutes. Samu and I had a good session on that thing, which was cool! That was my first trip with Burny, I never met him before. He’s cool. Shoots good photos and gets so hyped on everything. I hope to skate with him soon.

Burny:
